Class size limited to 12. Child to teacher ratio not to exceed 10:1 

Hours of care: 7:30 - 5:00 Monday - Friday

Extended care available, morning 7:00am - 8:00am and afternoon 4:00pm - 5:30pm

Our Preschool Program also offers high-quality materials, with an emphasis on social-emotional learning and the formation of positive self-awareness and interactions with others. Our day offers time for young children to develop ideas, form positive relationships, and explore new and interesting materials through intentionally planned learning activities and routines that encourage independence and self-reliance. 

Turn to Joy uses an emergent curriculum. This means that the children are the center of the curriculum and the curriculum involves the whole child. Activities in the classroom will be centered on the interests of the children. This is done by closely observing children’s explorations, play, and interactions with each other and the environment. The curriculum supports and expands each child’s exploration and the expression of their ideas, questions, and interests through language, movement, and creativity. Teaching Strategies Gold, the Vermont Early Learning Standards and NAEYC guidelines inform our practices for developing meaningful learning experiences for children.

An environment that is safe and accessible for exploration with age-appropriate materials and engaging interactions with adults will provide active learning, language enrichment, and a foundation for social-emotional development.
